Wine of the Week: Wolfberger Brut Crémant d’Alsace NV
January 28, 2019
This sparkling wine is pale lemon yellow in color with lively, persistent bubbles that follow through on the palate. A creamy lemon chiffon in the mouth start gives way to peach, apricot and bright citrus. The dry fruity character dominates over the yeast/toast flavors delivered by a heavier traditional method style, making this an ideal wine to serve as a playful aperitif or to pair with casual foods. If you do have it on the table, it’s a good match with seafood, salmon, shellfish, white meat, or afterwards with cheese. Wolfberger is one of the first quality wine cooperatives in Alsace.
