Wine of the Week: Bott-Geyl “Les Elements” Gewurztraminer 2013
July 16, 2018
Light golden-yellow in color, this is a classic example of Gewurztraminer from Alsace: refined floral and spice aromatics (each swirl of the wine in your glass releases a new aroma), and a subtle, dry palate with layers of flavors ranging from lychee, ripe nectarine, candied orange, ginger and a touch of honey. The wine has some weight to it, so enjoy swishing it around in your mouth to capture all the flavor dynamics, but it’s light enough to enjoy with light spring rolls, spiced Thai salads, grilled fish or on its own.
Bott-Geyl’s vineyards were converted to in 2000 and to biodynamic in 2002.
